Goals for 2018

Business, FamilyAnnie JohnsonComment

Ah, who doesn't love a good New Year's Resolutions post?  Even though I've been a little quiet on the blogging front -- because production has increased 150%! woot! -- I still love dreaming, reaching, and outlining my goals for each year.

My favorite tactic is to reflect on the previous year: what worked stellar?  What needs improved?  What would be a wild accomplishment?  What gives back to my family and betters our lifestyle (more together time)?  How am I going to accomplish each one?

Most are business related goals, because I'm a work-a-holic by nature, but I'm also listing a few personal ones to remind me everything has a season: a season to create, a season to be a mom, etc.  I'm also including how to accomplish each goal realistically.

Craft Show Wish List 2016

With the hint of warm and sunny weather just around the corner, my thoughts are eagerly anticipating Art Walks and summer weather fun.  Like everyone else, I'm ready to soak up some warm sun rays and refresh my whole life.  Or maybe that last part is just the spring fever.

Either way it's time to start thinking about what spring and summer craft shows to apply for and begin building my list of deadlines so I don't miss any favorites.

O-I Crafting for Charity Review

My last show of 2015 turned out to be my second-highest show in sales, ever!  Even though some customers complained that they had already done most of their holiday shopping during Black Friday sales, plenty more customers were holiday shopping as well as shopping for baby and housewarming gifts!  Foot traffic seemed a bit slow, but it was definitely steady all day.

Naturally Christmas Show Review

It was so nice to have the Naturally Crafty group reunite for our first Christmas show at the beginning of November.  We had a few new faces this time around - a cookie lady with mini cookie samples(!) & a Osbourne Books rep hosting a story hour after 1pm.  We also had returning vendors Little Bare Furniture with reclaimed, handmade wooden toys, Knittedhome (me!) & Alex, our hostess, with her hand-painted signs.

Fall into Style Show Review

Since I won't be doing the Art Walk tomorrow, I thought I'd share a brief review of my latest Show - the Fall Into Style shopping event.  It is a fundraiser for the Young Alumni Scholarship at my high school and I've been on the planning committee for four(?) years now, but this was the first year I took the leap to buy a table.

Craft Show Reviews

With pregnancy nausea kicking into high gear after the Independents' Day Fair, all my other Show Reviews were hardly a few sentences each.  Fast forward to November when I finally felt like I was emerging from my first trimester illness, I started to flesh out my Show Reviews before they were lost to pregnancy brain.

Now, a few months later, they are finally ready to see the light of day with a few quickly-snapped photos and a growing excitement for the new year's line up of show possibilities.

Looking Ahead at the New Year

Hmm… Coffee tastes like sweet, old memories this morning… :)  It's been a while (3 years?) since I can remember sipping coffee in my sweatpants, dreaming up what I'm going to blog about next.  But this morning feels different; it's time to share our exciting news and I'm also overdue for "Resolutions" post of some sort.  This year my 2016 resolutions are a mixture of personal and business related.

But first, because I'm not good at holding anticipation…
